Both the Courthouse and the Jail were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

 

Governmental offices for Florence County.

 

The courthouse was built in 1889.

 

South addition was constructed in 1994.

 

 

One of two origional county jails in Wisconsin retaining its original interior lock-up cells. Must be seen to be appreciated.

 

 

Last used in the 1930's.

 

Open to the public during courthouse hours May through September.
