Canoeing Florence County

Pine and Popple Canoeing Guide
Florence County is home the the Pine, Popple, Brule and Menominee Rivers.  The Pine and Popple are 2 of the 3 state designated Wild Rivers.  There is very little development along these to rivers.

One of the most popular short trips is the Pine River Oxbow.  Paddlers put in at the Pine River bridge on Hwy N, paddle for 3.5 miles and come out less than 1/2 mile north of the Hwy N bridge.  In the summer, this is also a great tubing trip.

Paddlers often ask about the water flow on the Popple River.  Recently, an avid paddler recorded some of this information for others.  You can view the 5 Year Average Flow and the Hwy 101 Gauge Guide.
