Don’t you wish that kids came with instruction manuals?  Join other parents at classes and workshops designed to help you strengthen your parenting skills.  The more you learn about children and solving common problems, the easier and more joyful parenting will be!

 

The Family Center offers a variety of classes free of charge.  Childcare is provided for children who are independent walkers and older unless otherwise noted (younger children are welcome to join their parents).

 

Courtesy Call . . . register at least 24 hours in advance for participation and childcare, and if you register for a workshop and are unable to attend, please give us a call and let us know.  We frequently have a waiting list of others interested in attending.  They appreciate the opportunity to attend if you are unable to.

From toilet training and temper tantrums to teething and toy sharing, join other parents in learning about the latest on topics that affect you daily as a parent.

 

These are one time workshops.

P.A.C.T. (Parent and Child Together)

Bring your preschooler, explore new & exciting ways to learn at home, and create some fun make ’n take games.  Help prepare your child for school by attending these monthly “transition” workshops at Florence Elementary!

Home Alone

This class helps parents prepare their 9-11 year olds for staying “Home Alone.”  Topics include:  personal safety, home, kitchen and utility safety, “what to do when. . .,” and other important information.  Community safety volunteers lead the sessions for kids and adults.
