Award:

$ 3,975.64

Project Scope:

Florence County is sponsoring an Aquatic Invasive Species Education, Prevention, and Planning project which will focus on preventing AIS introductions into county lakes and providing AIS education.

Activities:

1. Recruit volunteers and implement a CBCW program at town landings;

2. Hire an AIS Coordinator (duties include training volunteers, landing inspections, entry of inspection forms, and AIS presentations/media releases);

3. Deliver suspect AIS to WDNR;

4. Entry of inspection forms 3200-120 onto Dept website by Coordinator;

5. Publicize AIS education and project in local media;

6. Develop custom county AIS brochure;

7. Participate in lake association annual meetings, Ski-ters Waterskiing shows, summer library reading program, and Wild Rivers 40th Anniversary Celebration; and

8. Present project results at Florence County LCC meeting in September.
