Mission Statement

     The Florence County Planning, Zoning, Recycling & Solid Waste Department has the mission of protecting and promoting the public health, safety and general welfare of Florence County. It is further our mission to protect forested, agricultural, residential, business and manufacturing uses from harmful or detrimental encroachment by incompatible uses. Guidance from the Land Use & Lake Protection Plan will ensure that future growth occurs in an orderly fashion so that natural resources are conserved and property values are maintained.

It takes 30-50% less energy to make New paper from old.
How can you help?
Reduce the number of things you throw away.
Reuse as many things as possible.
Find out where you can recycle things locally.
